Howdy-ho, gluers!
Our November repair clinic is on the horizon and we’re itching to get back to it, since we skipped October. We’ll be at Kitchen Sink (1107 w. Berwyn Ave.) from 4-7pm on Sunday, Nov. 18. Click here for the Facebook event page.
We’re expecting volunteers with the following proficiencies:
Don’t let that list limit what you bring in to be fixed! We’ve got the power of the hive mind, so we’ll take a shot at repairing anything that comes through the door. If you have manuals/spare parts/replacement parts, please bring them!
If you’d like to volunteer as a fixer this weekend, email Carla and let her know!
See you Sunday!
Just learned of this organization through Oh So We. LOVE IT. Count me in for future repair weekends. Darned if I didn’t just miss one yesterday. Can’t wait to get involved. Thanks Tracy
So glad you want to get involved, Tracy! Feel free to email me at carla@communityglueworkshop.org to get on our volunteer list. Sorry we missed you this time, but we’ll have them monthly, so fret not!
I want to give away Gerry vacuum cleaner that’s really noisy. Where can I give away an old VCR?
Well, we’re in the fixing business, not so much the giving away business (unless you have tools you don’t need!), so I would say if the VCR is working, donate it to your local resale shop. If it’s not working, bring it to one of our repair clinics and we’ll fix it up and you can donate it then!
Do you think you’re going to have a workshop in December? Really want to check out your event. I just missed the November one 😦
Yep, we’re planning on it, Matt. Stay tuned for a date and time!
So great to find you! We’d love to promote your future workshops. Please send us an email when you know the dates and we’ll add them to http://www.recyclebycity.com/chicago. Thank you for offering this great service, Carla and Ally!
