Until we’ve got a few under our belts, this description is subject to a little fluidity, but here’s what we envision Fix-Up sessions to be.
Volunteers will arrive 15 – 30 minutes before session begins to get acquainted, organized, and fill out any necessary paperwork.
Folks with items that need some TLC, arrive with the following: item in disrepair, any relevant materials (ie: owner’s manuals, spare parts, etc.), the understanding that we will all do our best to fix it, but there are no guarantees.
We aren’t running a drop-off repair clinic here, it’s about connecting with your neighbors and learning a few new tricks! So plan to stick around during the repair process and lend a hand to the volunteer(s) working on your project. There is no promise that we’ll be able to finish any given project in one session, but we plan to host Fix-Ups at least once a month, so there will be more time down the road. Hey, maybe you’ll learn a thing or two and be able to volunteer at the next Fix-Up!
